SHERRI TAYLOR, PMHNP-BC

Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Provider

I enjoy helping people transform their lives and I get the privilege of watching people begin to feel better in their everyday lives. I have been in the medical field for over 30 years. My experience is extensive, beginning in the adult intensive care unit, then moving into the neonatal intensive care, pediatric home care services, geriatric home care services and completing out my hospital based nursing in an outpatient ambulatory department.

I have cared for patients at every stage of life from beginning to end. My practice philosophy as a nurse practitioner is much the same as it was as a nurse. I want to continue to be compassionate in my care for others. I want to provide thoughtful evidence-based insights centered around individualized patient-centered care.

On your first visit, I would like to gather your medical and mental health history so we can target your most problematic concerns together. To accomplish your treatment goals, I need to understand where you have been, where you are coming from currently, and how you want to feel in the future. I want to work as a team to explore the best plan of care for you.

Treatment often includes medication to help you to start to feel better so you can begin to work on the issues at hand. Therapy is a great compliment to medication management and offers the most best outcome for emotional well-being. Both are powerful tools to move you toward the life you desire.

A little more about me personally, I enjoy going for walks and being outdoors. I am always grateful to spend time with my family and my close friends. I enjoy a good TV series when time permits and I like to listen to informative educational videos. I love watching collegiate sports. As a provider, I look forward to getting to know you and providing you with a welcoming space that will make you feel safe and comforted.

The Road To Progress...

Path to helping with depression, anxiety, trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, and mood disorders

Step 1: Please fill out the Contact Form. It comes directly to me. I will get back to you within 1-2 business days. Once I review your information, we will schedule an initial consultation call to see if I am a good fit for your needs.

Step 2: Comprehensive Initial Evaluation (60-90 minutes)

In our first visit I focus on getting to know you as a person along with the struggles you are facing. Together we can find a treatment plan that works for you. I do require that your fill out the initial intake patient paperwork prior to your visit. This gives us more time to discuss your treatment plan when we meet. There is a lot to cover and I want to be able to consider all your needs as we consider your future treatment options.

Step 3: Once we establish a treatment plan, we will schedule follow up visits where we will work together toward meeting your mental health goals. Depending on your needs and progress we will typically meet every 2 weeks to every 3-4 months. The time between visits will depend upon how you are feeling and responding to treatment.

Step 4: Feel at peace…

Small Steps, Real Impact

If you are feeling overwhelmed, burned out, fatigued, depressed, or anxious, you do not have to suffer alone. I am here to help you. One step at a time, we will work together toward your mental health treatment goals. Your treatment will not just focus on medication alone. Most often medication is the foundational step to building momentum. Mental resilience is best achieved with medication and therapy. Most of us at some point in our lives have to look inward, we may need to process past trauma, repair interpersonal conflict, learn to build positive social connections, or learn new coping skills. I work with some of the best therapists in the Omaha area and I will put you in touch with them. Together we will look at all aspects of your emotional well-being. The pillars of mental well-being include managing stress, restorative sleep, physical activity, practicing self-compassion, staying connected to others, and eating nutritious food. A holistic approach creates emotional resilience that builds upon itself to create the life that you desire.
